Gallery57 opened in 2016 and is part of a Grade II listed Georgian house where practicing artist and owner, Ann Symes, lives.

This light, spacious gallery, with a nod to its residential origins, provides a comfortable and welcoming space in which contemporary artworks are sympathetically displayed with attention to detail.

Local, national and international artists and makers are invited to take part in a programme of thoughtfully curated, themed exhibitions.

The gallery often provides surprise and interest by selecting artists whose working methods have a more unusual approach to materials and techniques. By placing importance on how work is displayed and given space, it creates the calm aesthetic for which the gallery has become known.
