The Chattery is an independent family run business located on the busy high street in the beautiful Regency town of Sidmouth.

Locally sourced products make up the extensive menu, which offers a range of delicious meals and treats. Customers can enjoy one of their popular full English breakfasts, freshly made sandwiches and paninis, or indulge in a hearty hot meal followed by a range of cakes and naughty treats. 

Drinks include freshly ground coffee from a local specialist, luxury hot chocolate made with real chocolate flakes, or decadent ice cream milkshakes and smoothies.

The Chattery serves a generous selection of sweet treats for the sweetest tooth, including the traditional Devonshire Cream Tea.

The Chattery prides itself on offering a warm welcome to all, including all doggy friends! In the summer, customers can watch the world go by from the outside seating area, overlooking the vibrant high street. A recent refurbishment now offers customers a light and airy space that retains plenty of character and interesting history from the building’s heyday as the majestic Grand Cinema, which was active until 1956.

The Chattery plays an active part in the community, engaging with the famous Sidmouth Folk Festival and hosting musicians for the 2023 Sidmouth Jazz Festival. It is a friendly and welcoming place, perfect for meeting friends for a leisurely lunch or for grabbing a takeaway coffee.

Walk-ins are welcome, as are bookings, and all dietary requirements are catered for.
