YMCA Theatre
Scarborough
YMCA Scarborough is a registered charity, run by local people to serve the local community since 1846.
Over the years we’ve been based in various buildings within the town, but we’ve focused on providing support and opportunities to young people and the wider community – helping them to believe in themselves and realise their full potential.
We provide opportunities for all young people, whether they’re facing difficult and challenging issues or simply looking for something to do.
We use our dance and fitness studios, meeting room, sports hall and 290-seat theatre to provide a unique range of activities including sports, youth club, musical theatre (we put on a number of top-quality productions each year – recent examples include Jesus Christ Superstar, Our House, Grease, Little Shop of Horrors and Guys and Dolls), Arts Award, volunteering and our very own YMCA Band. We are the permanent base for Rowlies Academy of Dance and Yorkshire Coast School of Ballet.
