Sherwood Forest
Newark & Southwell
Home to the legend of Robin Hood, Sherwood Forest and Budby South Forest are alive with nature, history and folklore, and it's all yours to explore.
Managed by the RSPB, this is a Site of Special Scientific Interest with one of Europe's most important assemblages of ancient oak trees. It is home to a diverse range of wildlife, from woodpeckers and nightjars to some of the UK's most endangered invertebrate species. Sherwood also resounds with tales of legendary characters on our costumed storytelling tours and our annual Robin Hood Festival. Play, discover and leave with stories of your own. We have a Visitor Centre with shop, café, toilets, Changing Places room, accessible parking, trails to explore and events throughout the year.
