Selworthy Pantry
Minehead
We are a small family run business based from our home here on the Holnicote National Trust Estate in Selworthy. Living on Exmoor all our lives, we moved to the village of Selworthy 3 years ago along with our 2 children, Layla & Henry. Surrounded by rolling hills, beautiful woodland & an abundance of wildlife, we are pleased to say we don’t plan on moving home again.
Making our preserves all began with a good crop of Runner Beans. We were given armfuls from family & fellow gardeners around our local area, so what else could we do but make the traditional & family favourite Runner Bean Chutney. And then there was no stopping us...
Country bumpkins at heart, and a love for all things old fashioned, out came the recipe book handed down from Emmas Grandmother. Packed full with old fashioned, delicious recipes for chutneys, but also jams and marmalades too. Before we knew it, our pantry was full of delicious preserves. So then came the stand at the bottom of our drive to sell to local families along with visitors to the area. After around a year of very humbling feedback, we decided it was time to venture out selling our homemade goods.
We established The Selworthy Pantry in November 2019 and we have been overwhelmed with the support and feedback we have had so far and are looking forward to what the future holds for us.
We love to grow our own fruit and vegetables and have learnt to become quite self sufficient. We use our home grown fruit & vegetables in all our preserves, plus what our fellow gardener friends offer us. We like to pride ourselves that we use only the most freshest & local ingredients whenever we possibly can.
Everything is done in our cottage kitchen, and we only ever cook in small batches to ensure we keep the true authentic homemade taste. We do everything by hand, from stirring the pot to labelling the jars.
Please get in touch if you have any questions, we would love to hear from you.
