Inverness Creative Academy
Inverness
Inverness Creative Academy is the Highlands’ first major creative hub. It offers working spaces for artists, makers and the creative industries to grow from.
With a year-round arts programme of exhibitions, markets, open studios and more, make sure to visit Inverness Creative Academy on your next trip to the capital of the Highlands.
The former Inverness Royal Academy building (completed in 1895 and in use up until 1980) fell into disrepair after the school moved premises. In 2020, Wasps opened the first phase of the building – the artists and makers wing – providing 32 brand new artist studios and the beautifully restored Gym Hall for events and exhibition hosting. Two years later, the second phase of the building featuring over fifty workspaces for the creative industries was formally opened by HRH The Princess Royal. The stunning Assembly Hall was unveiled, with balcony galleries and an inviting café on the ground floor.
