Exploring the Broads on a boat is a fantastic way to spend a day. The perfect blend of wildlife, experiences, and adventure is best enjoyed on the quieter side of the Broads.

There are two road bridges over the river at Potter Heigham, a main A-road bridge carrying lots of traffic, and an historic, listed bridge dating from medieval times. Due to the small opening in the old bridge, larger cruisers are unable to navigate through the old Potter Heigham bridge.

This means that up river of Potter Heigham there are fewer boats and a more peaceful environment for those who have hired boats from Martham Ferry to enjoy, giving you the greatest chances of seeing our wonderful birds and other wildlife.

Our daily hire boats have the added benefit of being able to fit through Potter Heigham bridge, (pilot maybe required) so during your boat hire with us you can explore both sides of the Broads.
