Woodchester Mansion Trust
Gloucester
A house like no other! This amazing unfinished Gothic revival house is situated in beautiful Woodchester Park south of Stroud.
The Mansion is open to the public from Easter to Halloween, but it is worth people checking our website for details. Adult admission is £11.
Visit to see how a house of this period was constructed – the bones of the building are laid bare. Learn about the Mansion, its young architect Benjamin Bucknall and his patron William Leigh on one of our guided tours – or explore by yourself.
Admire the superb craftsmanship of carved local limestone, including many stone animals for children to spot and count, and see the resident rare horseshoe bats on CCTV.
We have a café for light lunches and teas, and visitors can enjoy a stroll in the surrounding park. The Mansion can be hired for weddings and other private events, and we host public events like theatre performances, exhibitions and stone carving workshops.
Park in the NT car park for Woodchester Park (though the Mansion is not an NT property). We’re not easy to find, so please go to our website www.woodchestermansion.org.uk for details before visiting. You can also discover the event programme for the season here too.
