The Woodyard
Felixstowe
The Woodyard restaurant is sat between the iconic Tide Mill Museum and the Long Shed Boat Yard where they are currently building a life size replica of the famous Anglo Saxon Boat found at burial site at Sutton Hoo.
Founders Charles, Tom and Tristan opened the restaurant in the spring of 2022. Charles comments ‘I was looking for a site in Woodbridge for a long time. The unit we came across just seemed perfect for what we wanted to do; serving great quality pizza in lovely surroundings. With views of the river Deben, you can come in the morning/lunch and watch the world go by with a cup of coffee and some of our Gelato or try one of our lunchtime specials. We serve our pizzas from 12pm through till 9pm each day
Tom adds; the build was really important for us too, we wanted a place you can sit and relax in, but a place with a great buzz to it. We used upcycled materials for practically everything from the handcrafted furniture to the wall decs, giving it an industrial feel'. 'The ingredients we use for our pizzas is really important too' Tristan mentions. Our supplier sources straight from Naples and the surrounding areas. Our Napolese style pizzas just taste great with authentic ingredients like Prosciutto di Parma and fior di latte mozzarella from Naples, so we endeavour to source out meats and cheeses from Italy.
On the main pizza menu you will find traditional Italian pizzas but The Woodyard also have regularly changing pizza Specials. ‘We want our chefs to be able to express their creativity and The Woodyards signature specials allow them this freedom’.
If you’re visiting Woodbridge we welcome you to come try a pizza with a cheeky cocktail or glass of wine from our Italian wine list.
