New Forest Airfields Heritage Centre
No.1 Visitor Attraction on Tripadvisor ‘Things to do’ in Bransgore

Did you know that there were twelve active airfields in the New Forest area, during World War II, and that over 30,000 service personnel and civilians were employed on them, around the D-Day period. in June 1944?

Our Heritage Centre Museum at Bransgore tells the story of the airfields and the brave airmen and women, whose courage saved us in our darkest hour. Come and visit us and learn about 110 years of local aviation heritage.

The Centre has modern ‘state of the art’ interactive displays, hand held audio guides, information panels, photographs and videos, telling the story of the airfields, through many a tale of danger and heroism.

Original WWII artefacts, model dioramas and unique documents are housed in more than 30 display cabinets.

There is also a section on early flying and the First World War training airfield at East Boldre. The first floor gallery is lined with many limited edition prints, signed by servicemen and women, who served on the airfields.

Our tea room offers light refreshments on Open Days, which are held on Sundays (10 am to 4 pm) and some Thursdays, during the summer months.

To check on Open Day dates and learn more, please visit the Charity’s website at:  https://fonfasite.wordpress.com/
